Right (State 2). A stunning complete mint sheet of 40, mostly
never-hinged, with lightly toned gum and only two small reinforced
areas. A visually striking and highly desirable display piece,
offering an outstanding addition for the specialist collector or
exhibition

2) & Plate 3A Mint. A magnificent sheet featuring some toning and
hinge reinforcements, but of exceptional interest due to its
multiple key varieties: position 1/2 “major re-entry”, 3/2 and 8/2
“missing accent”, and 7/4 “reversed accent.” A sheet containing all
of these varieties is extremely scarce, making this a superb
showpiece for the specialist collector. Provenance: ex Bute and

1d Scarlet – “Accent and Final ‘t’ Missing” Variety, Used. A very
fine and exceptionally rare used example of the 1d Scarlet, with
part slogan cancel, showing the sought-after “accent and final ‘t’
missing” variety. Apparently, fewer than five used examples are
recorded. Signed in pencil on the reverse by David MacDonnell and
accompanied by a certificate from Ian Whyte (1993). A truly scarce
and highly desirable item for the specialist collector. (Hibernian
