Stanley franked top marginal 1 s. and 3 s. tied by violet oval

FALKLAND ISLANDS" arrival backstamp (April 20). Envelope slightly
aged but an extraordinary franking from a rare Antarctic origin

The cover indicated on face as being from the Postmaster of the Falkland Islands and with fine wax Post Office seal on reverse. Carried by Kosmos line vessel S.S. Neko. Photo. (Estimate £200 - £250)

violet cachet, franked with KGV 1 1/2d tied by London cds to the
US, then redirected to New York; cert. BPA (1969)
