JUL 15 1907 has had the stamp washed off and a violet boxed
‘DAMAGED BY IMMERSION / IN SEA WATER. – I.S.’ applied. It is
believed that the mail bag which was on the S S Kronprinz Wilhelm
when it docked in London fell into the water when unloading. It
must have been in the water for some time to have had the stamp
washed off. A triangular I.S. cachet is where the stamp should have
been. Uncommon
