reverse with scarce Marine Detachment of American Embassy Peiping,
China origin cds. Transit 4th Regiment USMC Shanghai China (17
Jan). Arrived Washington (21 Feb). Very sacrce diplomatic mail from
US Embassy at Peiping. The USMC 4th Marine Regiment stationed in
Shanghai from 1927 to 1941 to protect American citizens and their
property in the Shanghai International Settlement, during the
Northern Expedition and the Second Sino-Japanese War.

Consulate Foochow, both f.w. US 5c, tied by by obliterator along
with cds. Former transit via US Consulate Shanghai while latter via
Hong Kong to Foochow BPO. A very interesting pair given the
different route of the same correspondence and rate. Also, former
applied with US Consulate Shanghai transit cds is also unusual as
postmarks with inscriptions "US Postal Agency" was already in use
by that time.
1882及1884年一對美國寄美國駐福州領事J.C.A. Wingate封，均貼美國票5分，銷殺手戳，另見Stratham日戳。前者經美國駐上海領事館中轉，後者則經香港至福州英局。雖然為年份相近、郵資相同之Wingate書信，但反映了不同郵路，十分有趣。而當時上海美國客郵局早已使用“US Postal Agency”銘文之郵戳，故前者鈐領事館中轉戳亦較少見獨特。

Chinkiang. Only a handful of Large Dragon covers in combination
with USPS are recorded. 1882. Cover from Customs Chinkiang to
Middletown, Conn., USA. F.w. Large Dragon thin paper 3 ca Large
Dragon, tied by CUSTOMS CHINKIANG datestamp (12 Aug). Transit
Shanghai (13 Aug) and transferred to USPA, where 5c US stamp

rate, もっと見る 1904 Peking (4 May) to USA, f.w. Coiling Dragon 2c for domestic rate, tied by Peking bisected bilingual cds. Transit Shanghai Chinese PO (10 May). In combination with US 2c for US domesticc rate, tied by USPA Shanghai obliterator. Arrived USA (20 Jun). Such "relay postage" with combination of CIP and foreign stamps was lower than normal international rate. Rather late and scarce example.

Vessels of both these lines were named after the presidents of USA
1940年代一組五件美國跨太平洋航線海郵封，貼孫像及烈士票，鈐President Coolidge、President Taft雙聯日戳及President Grant橫戳等。在1922及1924年，Admiral Oriental Line及Dollar Line提供往來西雅圖 / 三藩市與馬尼拉的航線。兩家公司的船隻均以美國歷任總統命名。
