1948-49 Kishangarh 1r dull green on toned wove (1901 plate-printed issue, pin-perf), type 1 H/S in red, lower right corner example (R6/4), c.t.o. with full strike of undated seriffed "KISHENGARH / RAJ P.O." circular pmk. A rare and interesting stamp, the first example we have offered. [N.B. The trimmed perfs at top reflect the removal of R5/4 from all the original sheets, apparently because of a defective cliche. See the Part I footnote after Kishangarh SG 38.] SG 32a cat £1100

scarce and interesting item. The setting constructed from two sets
of 10 cliches with identical flaws, arranged 1-10 and then 10-1 (in
