Hong Kong Treaty Ports. Tientsin. 1920 (13 May) printed commercial
envelope to Leeds bearing "china" 6c. (2) and 10c. (2) tied by
"tientsin/br.p.o." single-ring c.d.s. with a good strike of the
boxed "R/tientsin:b.p.o." registered handstamp in red; double
registered the envelope is marked "Registered 'A.R'" in black ink;
some edge wear. The sender's details from the Anglo-Chinese

Hong Kong Treaty Ports. Swatow. 1919 (25 Mar.) "china" registered
envelope, size K (Yang 52) double registered to Tientsin uprated
with additional 2c. (2) and 4c. (2) cancelled by type I c.d.s.
(Proud D10) and bearing a good strike of the rare boxed
"R/swatow.b.p.o./no." registration handstamp plus a superb strike
of the solid frame "AR" with champhered corners. A few small age
faults but with the original letter and business card. Webb's
scarcity guide records ten or less of the registration handstamp

issues, tied by Luxembourg-Ville VI c.d.s. (2 Mar), bearing boxed
R, manuscript registration notation and prominent A.R. handstamp on
face, addressed to Mademoiselle Marie Hau with printed postal
instructions for return of the acknowledgment, the reverse with
Grevenmacher c.d.s. (March; day indistinct), light toning and minor
creasing from handling, otherwise sound, an uncommon AR usage.
