Netley もっと見る 1879: Egypt 1 pi. rose an uncancelled example on 1882 cover to Netley Abbey, Southampton mailed via Malta with "Joseph Azzoparci & Co / Ship Agents / Malta" green cachet at left, with MALTA cds (Sept 18) in black, "T" marking in black and circular "5d." due marking applied upon receipt in black. Southampton arrival cds (Sept 23) on reverse. Sold together with a Great Britain ½ d. brown postal stationery card uprated with 1881 1 d. lilac pair tied by "Malta / A25" duplexes - mailed on the same day as the cover - from the same correspondence. A scarce and attractive pair from a Soldier on his way home from Egypt.
