Karamitsos auction #586 presents a collection 378 Large Hermes Heads selected lots.
Being the flagship of Greek philately and having a distinguished place globally, the Large Hermes Heads stamps of Greece are of the highest printing outcome as work of art, along with the endless study field they provide to the collectors.
In this auction you can find very rare stamps, such as the 1867/69 10 lepta salmon stamp, the coarse provisional 1 lepton and the famous 2 lepta “straw” stamp or the 30 lepta Athens issue yellow-brown never issued stamp in block of 4.
Additionally, rare covers such as the IMBRAILA 1861 cover franked with Paris issue LHH stamps or the 1881 ANNINON cover – a unique rarity – and multiple or mixed franked covers, high quality stamps with very large margins and of course plate flaws and control number errors are only witness to the most exlusive and intricate philatelic journey.
