Tied by framed Urga Sept. 6, 1924 datestamp with additional strike at left on cover to Harbin, China, Harbin (Nov. 8) arrival backstamp, cover with some edgewear and small edge tear at top VERY FINE. THIS IS THE SECOND EARLIEST STAMPED MONGOLIA COVER RECORDED. AN IMPORTANT FIRST ISSUE COVER. It is believed that the first day of issue for Mongolian stamps was Aug. 1, 1924. Urga (Ulan Bator) was the only post office to have stamps upon release. It wasn't until at least Jun. 1925 when stamps were supplied to other towns/cities around Mongolia. Mongolian stamped covers from 1924 are exceptionally rare. Hellrigl recorded just five covers, though we are aware of two further examples

and single, used with 1924, 2c Scepter of Indra, Perf 10, Violet
"Postage Overprint (2 var), eight examples, each stamp with faint
but clear overprint, a couple appear to be tied by the overprint
suggesting they were handstamped after being applied to the cover,
all tied by faint Ulan Bator Apr. 7, 1926 double-circle datestamps
on back of red band cover to Kalgan, China, used with China, 1923,
1c Orange and 4c Gray (249, 253), 1c horizontal pair, 4c horizontal
and vertical pair, all tied by Kalgan (May 10) circular datestamps,
Manchouli transit datestamp, cover with some heavy soiling and
severe edgewear which also affects several stamps, about Fine, a
spectacular use which is unrecorded in Scott or Hellrigl, we can
only presume this was done as a validating measure as this was sent
during the period of the revenue overprinted stamps, ex Hellstrom
and Mizuhara
