This auction comprises the last of the fine group of sales offered on behalf of David Pitts
This auction offers British North America and commences with Canada which features the finest known used example of the 1851 laid paper 12d. black. This wonderful stamp has remarkable margins and a neat strike of the target cancellation. A magnificent example of this classic rarity
The sale continues with New Brunswick including 1/- reddish violet, Newfoundland with some classic values and "Hawker" 3c. and in Nova Scotia there is a wonderful 1860 10d. rate cover to France bearing 1851-60 1d., 3d. and 6d. , one of only three recorded, and a superb 1/- cold violet
The sale concludes with a magnificent array of Prince Edward Island with both internal and external covers to a variety of destinations and featuring a wonderful group of frankings
