We are proud to present the ninth in the popular series of 'Lionheart' auctions which begins with a Great Britain section, highlights include an 1840 1d. black 'VR' Official and a "Specimen" £5 orange Telegraph block of four. The British Empire section features some great rarities and fine examples of key sets and singles. A noteworthy item is an unmounted upper-right marginal Ceylon 1925 1000r. purple on red, Further highlights include a mint 1919 Newfoundland "Hawker" 3c. brown, a lovely mint New Guinea 1914 5/- on 5m. carmine and black and from Nyasaland both the 1897- 1900 and the 1903-04 £10. There is sure to be something for every British Empire collector, with key items in excellent condition, scarce multiples, errors and varieties along with some fine single country lots throughout and a number of British Empire collections towards the end of the sale.

In addition to the Hammer Price, the Buyer must pay the Buyer's premium at a rate of 20% of the final Hammer Price.

For Lots marked with(?), (†) or (Ω) VAT is chargeable on the Hammer price and the Buyer's premium at the standard rate (currently 20%).
For Lots marked with (x) VAT is chargeable on the Hammer price at the reduced rate (currently 5%) and on the Buyer's Premium at standard rate (currently 20%).
VAT on Margin scheme lots (identified by the absence of any VAT symbol next to the lot number) is payable at 20% on the Buyer’s premium only.
