Karamitsos auction #600 presents a total of 301 Large Hermes Heads selected lots. Being the flag ship of Greek philately and having a distinguish place globally, the Large Hermes Heads stamps of Greece are of the highest printing outcome as work of art along with the endless study field they provide to the collectors.
Rare stamps, such as the 1861 Paris issue 1 lepton stamp on newspaper posted on Octomber 1st, 1861 (first day of issue of the Greek stamps - lot 13), lots 46 and 47, the 20 lepta provisionals without control numbers on the back consisting great rarities, lot 97 a superb pair of 40 lepta provisional, one of the most rare items of Greek Philately, lot 171 the 10 lepta salmon 1867/69 stamp, lot 187 a cover from the Sina monastery with Egyptian and Greek stamp, lot 208 a 1871/72 20 lepta stamp with mirror printed control number on the face of the stamp, lot 221 a 1871/76 10lepta stamp with the second control number printed obliquely (3 copies known)- and multiple or mixed franked covers, high quality stamps with very large margins and of course plate flaws and control number errors are only witness to the most elusive and intricate philatelic journey.
